A beautiful arch

Manhattan Municipal Building, New York

  1. I am always blown away by stonework like this . . . getting the conformity that is required from stone for these types of undulating arcs has got to be the biggest chore ever.

Photographing these shapes beautifully must be the easiest job ever for you, though, Alice Olive.

  2. Did you run out of color film? Arches are so tough to shoot. Too far away you lose the effect and too close you don't see the effect. Yours is just right. I have some Kodachrome if you need it.

  3. Caught from the perfect angle once again. Superb! I just noticed the comments above -- do you shoot with film? Not digital?

  4. The Foolish Aesthete: No, I'm pretty much digital these days.

Tintin: Sadly, I haven't shot with film for a long time. Instead of carrying around extra rolls of film, I carry memory cards.
