Tintin: You're taking me down memory lane. I used to buy my Ilford b&w film by the foot and manually cut and roll to shoot in camera. I brought about a million of these rolls with me from Australia to the States and they are all still sitting in my fridge. My prints are also in those red Agfa boxes. Oh where have all the cowboys gone?
We called that bulk loading here. I was the dark room rat - work grant student in college who loaded a lot of those 35mm cheap plastic cassettes ordered from the back of Popular and Modern Photography magazines. Oh, man. All that time spent in the darkroom learning Ektachrome, Cibachrome...all for nothing. All gone. Sniff, I'm getting misty.
I actually taught a few girls in college how to bulk load. Back then there was nothing better than being in a darkroom with a college girl, a six pack of beer and the Beatle's White album.
Amazing the power Fixer and D-76 has on a woman in a small room with a red light. Throw in a little alcohol, some small talk about Cartier Bresson and it's all over.

Brilliant.
Oh I love this? Did you print it in a darkroom? It looks like film?
Jane: No, this is digital. I still have to get around to setting up the dark room!
I'll sell you my Bessler enlarger. Can you roll film onto a stainless steel reel, Alice?
Tintin: Of course I can! I am very old... school.
You passed the test. I wonder if youy can you even buy Dektol anymore? I still keep pics in empty Ilford, Kodak and (my fave) Agfa paper boxes.

Tintin: I had a photographer boyfriend seduce me with the aroma of his darkroom. It's intoxicating...
