Stepping outside 910 LSD and feeling my nose hairs freeze as I breathe in. Frost bite setting in as the 151 finally lumbars around the corner. Settling into the blue plastic seat next to the emergency exit window that is ajar and flapping against the bus. Walking to Monore through the salt and ice and those morons who use marble for sidewalk. Riding up the elavator crammed full of people covered in coats, scarves and hats clutching Vente Coffee cups for warmth.
Only here can people be so grateful for Spring. It is a city with soul and I'll love it for the rest of my life - - or until it gets the Olympics - -whichever comes first.
I love that you feel that way about Chicago!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year and I hope it's a really good one for you! You deserve the very best.
